Las Vegas speaks as much about America as Los Angeles and New York. Built in the middle of the desert, this city is a dreamy place for those looking for a weekend of fun. There are many things to do besides hitting the casinos, as Las Vegas is actually more like a big size amusement park, with more attractions that we can count. Las Vegas gathered landmarks from around the world and has many buildings mimicking iconic buildings around the world, like the Eifel Tower, rebuilt in the middle of the city. So if you never travelled to France, Italy or Japan, you can see all the great landmarks of those places in Vegas. Next, we’ll try to help you decide what to do as soon as you set foot in Las Vegas.
- Bellagio Fountains: This is one of those miracles you can see only in Vegas- a lake the size of a couple of football fields put together, which every 30 minutes shoots up in the air water from 1214 sprinklers. The water goes up to 460 feet up, and it’s dubbed by timeless classics from Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. There are many replicas throughout the world, but there is only one original and that’s the Bellagio Fountains.
- Cirque du Soleil: many hotels in Las Vegas organize shows with Cirque du Soleil throughout the year. Although quite expensive, these shows represent perfectly the ethos of the city: outrageous shows with extravagant décors, all in order to amaze the viewing audience. And if you’re passionate about gymnastics, you might recognize some former world champions now working for the show and doing some breath taking acrobatics.
- Jump from the Stratosphere Tower: But not because you lost at the black jack table. The Tower offers a once in a lifetime bungee jumping experience and it’s always nice to jump off a building, and not just a bridge.
- Almost all major hotels in Las Vegas offer great breakfasts. Actually, it’s kind of a tradition for hotels to treat their customers to fabulous breakfasts, especially if you’re trying to wake up after a night of great fun.
- If you’re travelling with kids, take them to the Disney Lion King tour at the Mandalay Bay. It’s nothing less than a stunning show and it equals any show you could enjoy during a studio tour in Los Angeles.
- Go see the Shark Reef: This is one of greatest aquariums in the States and has the most awesome “collection” of sharks. And everyone likes to see a shark, to be honest, as they’re more interesting than those colorful fish you can have in a tank at home. Additionally, there’s a Komodo dragon, huge turtles and many, many more.
- Fly through New York: Yes, in Vegas. The New York New York rollercoaster is not a fabulously dangerous ride, but around it there’s a cardboard version of New York. If you ever wanted to work on Wall Street, this might be the closest you’ll ever get, so don’t miss out.
- Play the roulette: yes, it’s Vegas and you should spend at least a couple of bucks in the casinos. Yeah, you’ll probably loose, but this is one of those iconic things to do on American land.
Getting to Las Vegas is really easy, as there are many airports, but you can also choose the highway or the train system. Airplanes land and take off all the time, but if you want class, take to Las Vegas a private jet charter and start the party while flying towards the desert marvel that the city is.
